The Night Clock offers a customizable user experience, allowing users to select between 12-hour and 24-hour formats. Its range of color options and adjustable brightness enhances its functionality, creating a visually appealing bedside accessory.

A notable design feature is the guide button, which directs users to a separate settings page that conveniently disappears after three seconds if not engaged. Colors and brightness can be adjusted by tapping on the digits, which reduces the likelihood of accidental changes while interacting with the clock in low-light conditions. It is advisable to keep the device plugged in, as it does require power for operation.

Functionality includes a single tap to modify brightness and a double tap to change digit colors. Additionally, swiping the digits allows users to switch the background color to bright red, transforming the clock into a night flashlight. Swiping again returns the display to black along with its previous brightness settings.

This clock also supports displaying an alternative time zone, making it ideal for those living in one area but needing to keep track of time in another, such as Maui and Chicago.

The app configuration includes an AutoLock feature that, when toggled off, maintains display visibility throughout the night. However, for versions 1.80 and above, if the phone is unplugged or loses power, the display will turn off after a predetermined time set within the AutoLock settings. Users can choose to set AutoLock to 'never,' which will keep the display on at minimal power consumption. A half-full battery icon is displayed when the device is draining battery.

An interesting aspect of this clock is its behavior regarding time formats; if the iPhone is set to 24-hour time under Settings > General > Date & Time, only 24-hour format is permitted. Conversely, disabling 24-hour time allows for both format options.
